LEARNING ENGLISH WHAT IS A LICENCE?
ACCEPTING THE LICENCE

When you buy software, it usually includes a licence, on screen or on paper. The licence tells you what you can do and can't do with the software. If you accept the licence, you can use the software.

Generally, there are two types of software licence: a single at a fixed price, and a multiple at a price that depends on the number of users. The Learning English licence works in the same way.

LEARNING ENGLISH WHY ISN'T IT FREE?
LOUISE: FINANCIAL SERVICES: KEW

My name is Louise. I live in Kew, near London, and work for financial services at Learning English. So, why isn't it free?

Learning English took over three years to design, set up, and populate, and is a unique combination of living ideas and interactive internet technologies.

Learning English was created, and is maintained, by Talking Technologies and university specialists in Oxford and London. We try to include your ideas for improvement.

Learning English is not expensive. If 500 people use it for a year, it costs less than 0.038 a day for each person. In the UK, even the cheapest newspaper costs many times as much.

LEARNING ENGLISH HOW TO GET A MULTIPLE LICENCE

To get a multiple licence and a password that allow you to use Learning English, ask your organisation to contact us.

The licence is for an agreed number of users and for an agreed period, usually a year. However, some organisations want to use Learning English for a shorter period to support their English language development strategy. The cost depends on the number of users and the period.

Learning English can be used by international businesses, government departments, language schools, universities, colleges, charities, and travel organisations, to provide a low-cost service to employees, students, or members.
